About Us @ Queens Road Neighbourhood Centre

Queens Road Neighbourhood Centre has been providing facilities since 1990. Community facilities have been provided on the Queens Road Estate since 1986 when ‘Queens Road Neighbourhood Project’ operated from a two bed roomed house. The project was staffed by local volunteers concerned about lack of opportunities for young people in the area. The current centre was built in 1989 and a crèche was added in 1994.

Queens Road Neighbourhood Centre has since gone from strength to strength and continues to be led by local trustees with the help of a team of professional workers. Our current services include childcare, youth work, community development and adult education.

We are committed to providing:

  • High quality services to all age groups to encouraged lifelong learning and place to socialise.
  • Valuable and purposeful opportunities for volunteering.
  • Internal training and capacity building programmes for staff, trustees, volunteers users and community members.
  • Systems and process that ensure the centre is sustainable and being used to its full potential .
  • A regular assessment of community members needs in order to strive to meet these needs, either directly or through referral.

Our Philosophy

We are committed to the provision of quality childcare within an equal opportunities policy. We value and respect the right and needs of children and their families, both as individuals and as member of the community.
